Self-Directed Funding - What's out there?, What's missing? Field
‘Self-directed funding’ is the new model of service delivery for people with a disability in Victoria. Under this model, the person with the disability is at the centre of planning, funding and developing the type of support services they receive.
field is undertaking an information gathering exercise that will aim to explore the following questions around self-directed funding:
- what are the experiences of people with a disability who have taken on self-directed funding?
- what resources exist to support people to manage their own affairs effectively?
- do people have enough information to be able to make good decisions or are there gaps in the help that is available?
Self-directed funding blog
Maree Ireland, field’s project co-ordinator, will be blogging on self-directed funding and the resources and supports that are out there. She plans to produce a comprehensive resource that will be made available to people with a disability, their support workers and service organisations. She would love to get your comments and feedback. So read Maree's blog and let her know your thoughts about self-directed funding.
