What is Wheels? This program is a pre-employment/education program, supporting young people who have been disengaged from mainstream education and employment. The Wheels Program is a great stepping stone to support young people to feel confident to make the transition to achieve their education or employment goals.

WHEELS PROGRAM FRONTYARD - COMMENCING TUESDAY 12th April 2011

We are excited to announce that we will be running another Wheels program based at Frontyard Youth Services.  

What is Wheels?

This program is a pre-employment/education program, supporting young people who have been disengaged from mainstream education and employment. The Wheels Program is a great stepping stone to support young people to feel confident to make the transition to achieve their education or employment goals.

 

Wheels offers 3 accredited modules (Food Hygiene, 1st Aid & barista training) Participants will also participate in a pre-driver education course as part of the program. We also include living skills, resuming writing and guest speakers as part of the course.

 

Eligibility

The program is for young people age 15-22, who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or who are currently participating in JSA and may need to complete some work experience hours. This program is also a great start for participants who have been disengaged from mainstream education for 3 months or more.

 

The young person must have linked to the North/West Region.

 

How long does it go for?

This program will run for 8 weeks, every Tuesday & Wednesday commencing 12th April 2011

 

Referral Process

Attached you will find a new referral form for 2011.

Once the referral is received, the young person will need to attend an interview prior to being accepted into the program. Interviews for this program are scheduled to be held on 1st, 5th & 6th April 2011. The young person will be contacted directly with an interview time.
