Organisational review to Support One DHS
Human Services In Focus Newsletter issue 4, July 2011
The Department of Human Services has been working toward ‘One DHS’, an exciting transformation that will meet the priorities and aspirations of a contemporary and client-centric human services organisation.
Feedback from sector partners has been that the department needs to be simpler and easier to navigate and work with. This will enable greater client centricity and integration in service delivery.
The Secretary Gill Callister has commissioned a review of the department’s internal arrangements commencing 14 July 2011. The One DHS Organisational Review will cover the entire department, taking in our regional service delivery operations and central functions. It will provide rigorous advice on how we should organise ourselves to achieve One DHS. During the review period our service delivery and our agency partnership activities will continue on a business as usual basis.
High level recommendations will be developed over the next few months with detailed reform proposals developed in late 2011.
The review will not slow down the other important activities underway, such as the reforms to child protection and implementation of the Victorian Government’s election commitments.
Regular updates about the review will be available on the Funded Agency Channel:
