NDIS update - Every Australian Counts
Notes From the Campaign:
Every Australian Counts 18|02|11
Dear Supporter,
It has a busy couple of weeks in the campaign with successful
rallies held in Victoria and Western Australia in the last week.
More than five hundred people attended a rally held last week on
the waterfront in Geelong, Victoria. Kitted out in red Every
Australian Counts tee-shirts, the crowd heard from long time
disability advocate John McKenna who spoke powerfully and
movingly about why we need an NDIS. Hundreds of people also
attended a rally in Perth on Sunday February 13. Participants
braved the heat to form the words "We Count" on a local oval
while a helicopter flew overhead and captured the event.

We would like to thank everyone who made the time to attend the
rallies - both events were important in spreading the word about
the need for an NDIS and building support for the campaign. And
thank you too to people who have enquired about the Every
Australian Counts tee-shirts - we will be making them more
widely available shortly so that everyone has a chance to show
their support!

State campaign coordinators are also in the middle of planning
and organising public forums to be held across the country
during March, April and May. These forums will give people a
chance to hear more about the Productivity Commission's draft
report, due to be released at the end of this month. Forums will
be held in regional areas as well as metro areas so that
everyone has a chance to participate. We will post details of
the forums on the Every Australian Counts website so make sure
you check it out and find out when the roadshow hits your local
area.
What can you do?
Did you receive an email this week asking you to help us spread
the word about the new website? We are trying to sign up as many
supporters as we can - we need as many Australians as possible
to stand up and be counted.
If you represent an organisation can we ask you to consider
sending out a campaign email asking your staff/clients/members
/users to sign up as supporters? We can provide you with email co
