field/Westpac Financial Literacy Workshop
This workshop is offered by field in association with Westpac*. The training is delivered by Westpac’s Financial Education team and has been specifically designed for community service organisations (CSOs). It is a full day hands-on, practical training session.
CSOs have to meet many of the same business objectives as private sector companies. This workshop will help CSOs plan to meet some of the challenges presented by new funding imperatives of financial sustainability.
Who should attend
The workshop is specifically designed for boards, treasurers, managers and anyone else who has financial planning responsibility in a CSO, but who may not necessarily come from a finance background/qualification. It is also suited to staff who wish to refresh and update their financial management knowledge and fluency.
Workshop Content
At the completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Interpret financial statements
- Measure and analyse financial performance
- Quickly and effectively diagnose a financial problem and implement a solution
- Identify ways to improve cash flow and financial efficiency
- Use breakeven analysis to support financial decision making and surplus planning
- Build a cash flow budget
- Plan for and manage seasonality
- Understand the financial impact of growth on cash flow
