Campaign Update – The Push for an NDIS Shifts Up a Gear
The campaign for an NDIS has stepped up a gear ahead of the expected release of draft Productivity Commission report into the NDIS proposal around the end of February.
Over coming months, public information sessions will be held across the State to discuss the draft report and allow for further public input into next phase of the enquiry.
No campaign can succeed without volunteers and we need your help for what will be a long campaign. We are looking for people passionate about disability issues to become campaign champions and activists in their own communities and networks. The more people we have that can visit their local Federal MPs, to write to the newspapers, to ring the radio stations, to tweet, blog and generally make a lot of noise about this issue the stronger the campaign will be.
A new website has been launched to support campaigne efforts, sending the simple message to the Australian Government that Every Australian Counts and an NDIS is a vital reform to achieve this.
For information about public information sessions on the inquiry and to get involved with the campaign, visit http://everyaustraliancounts.com.au/ or contact James O’Brien, State Campaign Coordinator on 03 8341 4316 or email james.obrien@ndis.org.au.
