"Four Funerals in One Day" comes to Federation Square
A PLAY WRITTEN BY ALAN HOPGOOD IN COLLABORATION WITH MOLLY CARLILE AN ENTERTAINING AND INSPIRING PLAY ABOUT DEATH, GRIEF AND LIVING
Finally the funny, poignant and thought provoking play, “Four Funerals in One Day” written by renowned actor and playwright, Alan Hopgood in collaboration with Molly Carlile, is coming to Melbourne. “Four Funerals in One Day” explores the themes of life, death and caring and highlights the importance of stories to helping people create and maintain relationships.
About the play
Karen is a community nurse caring for her first dying patient. Clarrie has had enough of being a burden on his family and wants to die now. Vi is tired and bad tempered and wondering why she stays working with dying people, particularly as she has her own problems at home. Sue is walking the fine line of acting as a mentor for junior staff and supporting a colleague who isn't coping.
Designed to "get people talking" about death, grief and living, "Four Funerals in One Day" is based on real people's stories and is an entertaining and inspiring performance piece.
Having toured regional Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and heading to the Northern Territory in October, "Four Funerals in One Day" is being performed on September 28th 2010 at the premiere city venue, the BMW Edge at Federation Square. This will be your last chance to see the play in Melbourne in 2010. The two performances, a matinee at 3pm and evening show at 7pm will be followed by a facilitated audience forum.
Four Funerals in One Day is for all age groups. It explores themes we can all connect with but rarely talk about and it gives the audience an opportunity to explore their own thoughts and feelings in an artistic format that encourages laughter and conversations.
Book early or you'll miss out.
