Commonwealth Government t Launches Disabilities Work Program

The Rudd government has launched a $1.2 billion program to help people with disabilities get into the workforce. The program will boost access to employment services and provide long-term support for people with disabilities already in work.

The government also launched a $6.8 million incentive pilot program to encourage employers to take on DSP workers.

Employers will be eligible for wage subsidies of up to $3000 if the job seeker remains in work for at least 26 weeks. The pilot will be focused in disadvantaged areas, and could be expanded if successful.
