Supported Accommodation Innovation Fund (SAIF)
Supported Accommodation Innovation Fund (SAIF)
The Supported Accommodation Innovation Fund has been established to build innovative, community-based supported accommodation places for people with disability. This fund is in addition to the Commonwealth’s existing investments in supported accommodation. $60 million has been committed over three years for this fund.
Community organisations will have the opportunity to directly apply for capital funding from the Commonwealth for supported accommodation for people with disability. Organisations will need to be able to demonstrate need and that they have secured ongoing funding to meet ongoing care costs required to sustain the supported accommodation.
The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) has released an exposure draft of the Program Guidelines for SAIF. The exposure draft is a proposed version of the guidelines and has been released for public comment before a selection process opens later in the year.
